It’s been a while since we released Sarah’s books, and I hope everyone is doing well. If you have been following Atthis Arts as a small press, THANK YOU! We’ve managed to survive these past few years, and continue to grow as an independent publisher. The Anna’s Nightmare books continue to sell (especially the e-books and audiobooks), which have helped keep our financial heads above water. But, like a lot of small, independent businesses, times are very challenging.
Which brings me to the Kickstarter we are currently part of:
Grayshade is a dark, gritty fantasy about an assassin who loses his faith and his family, and asks the most dangerous question that one of his profession can: why?
If you enjoyed When They Come Calling/True/Alive – please consider throwing a dollar to the Grayshade campaign to get the e-book edition of the first novel in the Gray Assassin trilogy. Book One is already out and will be delivered as soon as the campaign completes – so you won’t have to wait. We’re hoping to fund books 2 and 3, audiobooks, as well as a TTRPG came based in the world of Grayshade. And if you want to back for more, there are some really cool rewards.

Hello! I know we sent this campaign an update recently, but if you’ll forgive one more, Sarah wanted to send all of you a personal note before the campaign ends.

It’s a busy weekend here in Kansas. My mom is visiting and my son is running around the house in circles, aggravating his father and scaring the dog. I just made everyone banana pancakes for breakfast. I’m trying to carve out time and space in a busy house for writing, and having a hard time managing that. I’m in the final stages of editing When They Come Alive. It’s both exciting and sad to see Anna’s Nightmare come to a close. I’ve spent the better part of a decade on this trilogy, and while I’m looking forward to my next project (working title: D’Relln – the rough draft is complete). I find it hard to imagine a time when I’m not focused on Anna’s war with ghosts. Thank you to everyone who’s read and enjoyed Anna’s story – I can’t wait to share WTCA with you. If you plan to read it and haven’t pre-ordered a copy, please do! This is how Atthis Arts helps cover the substantial up-front costs associated with publishing a novel (everything from editing to cover design).

Additionally, limited edition hardcovers are available of both When They Come Alive and also a unique collector's edition of the entire Anna's Nightmare trilogy in one volume.

We have a new, very fresh, and very awesome novel about two ghosts and a mime walking across America that we think will appeal to Anna's Nightmare Readers: The Traveling Triple-C Incorporeal Circus. And if you're buying for youth, we have a 6-8th grade fantasy trilogy written by an author who is determined to provide appropriate and modern representation of girls in fantasy, and a 4-5th grade fantasy adventure full of big, bold characters and imagery. Both of these middle-grade authors have been through difficulties, and have put their strength and determination into their art, so I hope you'll give their wonderful stories a look as well - they would make great gifts. Please forgive us for that - we’re trying to balance being unobtrusive with getting the word out. Thanks for your understanding!
We have two big announcements for you: One, our first Catalog campaign. We’ve used crowdfunding over the years to help with the initial production costs needed to make the high-quality artistic products that we believe in. We’d still appreciate your help by pre-ordering these products. However, we have so many wonderful things coming out that we’ve decided to combine them - a big ol’ party and we’d love for you to join us. : )
And here’s the best part: the finale of Anna’s Nightmare: When They Come Alive, will be available through this campaign - in both standard and limited editions. Are you excited? (We are.)
So here’s how it works: Go to the campaign page at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/atthisarts/atthis-arts-catalog-2018/ Follow the instructions there to select an author and reward level. For example - Sarah Fleming Mountford! And you don’t have to stick with only one author - that’s just the easiest way we could set it up for now. Then, after the campaign is over, you’ll be able to add more titles by other authors (only if you’d like to, of course). I promise we are doing everything we can to make this easy and low-hassle for you.
I hope you’ll give all these great titles a look! The details are at the link, but it includes both adult-level speculative fiction (fine for teens too) as well as lower and upper middle grade fantasy (meaning great reads for elementary and middle school students).
